Northport,Al- Rev. Shane E. Burroughs 09-29-1956 - 08-04-2020 Shane was born in Columbus, Ohio September 29, 1956, to Rev. Flavis L. Burroughs, Sr. and Doris June Lovelle Burroughs. Shane graduated from Somerset Area Senior High in Somerset, Pa. and attended Lee College in Cleveland,Tn. where he received his Bachelor Of Science Degree. After graduation Shane began singing,evangelizing and Pastoring. Shane later went on to earn his Master's Degree in Counseling and Psychology from Jacksonville Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Fl. Shane had a passion for sports (especially Alabama Football), music (Elvis was his favorite), reading and his love for God. Shane was known for his larger than life personality and his infectious smile that could light up a room. Shane was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Flavis L. Burroughs,Sr. D.D. and Doris June Lovelle Burroughs. Shane is survived by his children; Amber Burroughs Azwell (Mike),Dustin Burroughs (Jenny),Sela Boler, 4 grandchildren, Kensley, Julianna, Isabella and Brooks; 2 brothers Flavis L. Burroughs, Jr. (Darlene), Sterling Burroughs; several nieces and a nephew; aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of Shane's life and home going will be held on September 12,2020 at 11:00 am at Metro Church of God ,2800 Metropolitan Way, Birmingham, Al 35243 with Rev. J. Stephen Statum officiating. Family will receive guests one hour prior to service.
